Navigating the Echo360 instructor home page
Once you have logged into Echo you will see the following ‘Instructor’ home page.
The contents of each tab within this page is outlined below.
Â
‘Library’ tab: Select this tab when you would like to search through your Echo360 recordings and uploads
‘Courses' tab: Select this tab when you would like to search through your Echo360 courses (Any courses you are listed as an 'Instructor’ on will show here)
‘Collections' tab: Select this tab when you would like to search through your Echo360 collections (See more on Echo360 Collections here)
‘Create’ dropdown menu. This menu contains multiple features - these are:
‘New Browser Capture’: This will open an instance Echo360 within your internet browser. Here you can configure video and audio inputs, as well as publish straight to your course if you wish. (No additional software is required for this)
‘New Software Capture’: This option requires you to have Universal Capture installed on your machine. (this will launch automatically if installed, if not you will be prompted to download and install the software)
‘New Device Capture’: This allows you to choose a room on campus and set the Echo360 device within that room to a recording state. (For reasons such as timetable clashes and privacy issues, we strongly suggest contacting eden.lecturerecording@lse.ac.uk for anything to do with on campus recordings. They can schedule these on your behalf).
‘Upload Media’: Allows you to upload audio and video files from your computer, which can be subsequently published to a Moodle course, shared personally within Echo360 or added to an Echo360 Collection. (More about uploading your media can be found here).
‘Search Library’: The bar allows you to search for captures more specifically.
'Collections Section': Allows you to see any Collections you have made or have access to in a pane view.
‘Media Section’: Allows you to see your recordings in a pane view.
'Settings' cog: Here you are able to amend your personal settings, view the Echo360 guidance documents or download the software needed for Use Echo360 Universal Capture Personal to record video and pre-record lectures. You can also provide feedback to the Echo360 technical team from here
