Editing your Echo360 recording
Any edits will be applied to your recording once processed in Echo360, but you can always restore to a pre-edited version if necessary - More on this to follow.
Written instructions
Log into Echo360 to access the recording.
Go to the ‘Courses’ tab and select the course where the recording is located by clicking on its name.
Note: You will only see the course if you are enrolled as a listed Instructor. If you don’t see your course or have trouble accessing your Echo360 account, please contact:
📧 eden.lecturerecording@lse.ac.uk to request access or support.Once selecting the course, you will be presented with the list of recordings that are in the course container (See below).
From the list click on the media icon to the right of the recording you wish to edit and choose Edit Video from the menu that appears, in this case we are editing ‘Lecture 2’ (See below).
You will then be taken to the editing screen (See below).
Note: Any edits you make will apply to all published versions of the recording. This means that if the recording is also published to another course, it will be replaced with the edited version. If this is not your intention, please contact eden.lecturerecording@lse.ac.uk — we can create a copy of the recording for you to edit separately.
Move the cursor to the position in the recording that you want to remove from the recording, and then click on three horizontal lines before selecting Split Clip (See below).
Move the cursor to the end of the section of the portion you want to remove from the recording, and then click on Split Clip again.
Click on the section of the timeline in between where you have made the splits, then click on the Bin icon to remove the section (See below).
Repeat this step as many times as is necessary.
Click on Save, which is at the top, to the right of the Bin icon.
After editing, the recording will continue to display the original version until the processing is complete. This usually takes about the same length of time as the recording itself. Once processing finishes, both you and your students will see the updated, edited version.
If you need to undo your changes, you can restore the recording to its original state by going to the ‘Actions’ tab and selecting ‘Restore to Original’ (see example below).
Note: If you wish to delay the availaibilty of your recording until it has been edited, navigate to the recording you are editing (by following step 2 of this guidance), click on the media icon to the right of the recording you wish to edit and choose ‘Availability Settings’ from the menu that appears.
Slecting ‘On a specific date’ will allow you to make the recoridng unavailable until the date stipulated.
