Before you begin adding content to your site, you will need to decide how you would like to structure it. This will ensure that the site follows some sort of logic and is easy for its audience to navigate. You will need to consider whether you plan to add content to your site using posts or static pages. Static pages are will be accessible from your site menu. You can help your audience find posts by tagging and categorising them. Categories can be used to as menu items so that all posts that are similarly categorised can easily be accessed from the site menu.

This guide from CampusPress will help you learn more about the posts and pages and when it’s more appropriate to use either one: The difference between Posts and Pages.
