Enabling Automatic Copying of Zoom Recordings to an Echo360 Account
Why do this?
At LSE, Zoom meetings that are recorded to the cloud can be automatically copied to the Zoom host’s Echo360 (EchoVideo) library. This feature is disabled by default, but can be enabled in the EchoVideo profile settings.
The main use case for this feature is to support scenarios such as remote teaching, where sessions can be recorded to the cloud in Zoom, copied to EchoVideo, and then published from EchoVideo to Moodle, which is the recommended approach for sharing Zoom recordings.
What has changed?
Prior to 22 July 2026, automatic copying was enabled by default but is now disabled to reduce unnecessary duplication of recordings.
Note: Please be aware that even if you do choose to enable automatic duplication of Zoom recordings to EchoVideo, Zoom recordings under 3 minutes in duration will not be automatically duplicated to EchoVideo
Follow the steps below if you wish to enable automatic duplication of Zoom recordings to EchoVideo (also referred to as ‘ingest Zoom recordings’):
How to enable automatic duplication of Zoom recordings to EchoVideo
Login to EchoVideo and go to the Settings cog:
Once there choose ‘Account Settings’:
From your Account Settings, choose ‘Zoom’ from the menu on the left:
From the Zoom Menu, you will see a option labelled as ‘Ingest Zoom Recordings’:
Now toggle the on button to the right of this option to the ‘On’ position:
Your EchoVideo profile is now set to ingest Zoom cloud recordings over 3 minutes. Remember: only recordings made to the Zoom cloud will transfer to Echo, local recordings will not be transferred.
