Marking Assignments with Accipio Grade

Introduction

This guide shows you how to mark submissions for an assignment that has been set up using Accipio Grade.

Assignments with Accipio Grade enabled can be set up to provide for three types of marking:

Simple Direct - the most common form of marking, involving a mark and a feedback comment
Multigrade - a mark per question with the mark for each question automatically calculated to provide a total mark
Matrix - a rubric style marking that allows markers to quickly highlight which standard a student has met against the assessment criteria. Students are shown their Matrix selections as part of their feedback. Unlike the native Moodle Rubric, Matrix does not determine the mark, markers do

Both Multigrade and Matrix can be configured during set-up to include comments per question/criterion and marks per question/criterion.

The marking view will differ depending on the marking type selected. You may also have the option to mark online or offline. While offline marking is possible for multigrade and matrix marking, online marking is recommended for an easier marking journey.

As marking is completed for each submission, it will be removed from My Marking.

On completion of marking, the assignment will move to the next stage of the workflow: further marking, moderation, external examiner review, or ready for release.
